Professional bench test, diagnostics, and repair service for Land Rover 48V to 12V DC/DC / DC-DC / DCDC converters fitted to MHEV / mild hybrid vehicles.

If your Land Rover has hybrid warning messages, 12V battery not charging, unstable 12V supply, charging faults, or communication faults, the DC/DC converter may be the cause.

Replacing the unit is not always the best first step. New converters can cost £1,000+, may be difficult to source, and can require coding after installation. Proper testing and repair of your original unit is often the more practical and cost-effective solution.

• P0A94 — DC/DC converter internal fault / reduced efficiency
• P0D33 — short circuit to ground / excessive output current
• P0D22-16 / P0D22-17 — circuit voltage below / above threshold
• P0A9E-00 / P0A9E-19 — generator control module over-temperature
• P0D25-00 — generator B control circuit low
• P0480 — cooling fan control circuit fault
• U0064 — CAN bus communication fault
• U3008 — control module ground / power supply fault
• U012A-00 — lost communication with generator control module

Other related fault codes may also be present depending on the vehicle, software level, and extent of failure.

HOW WE TEST

We do more than simply read fault codes.

Each unit is bench tested on our dedicated platform using direct diagnostics, live data analysis, load testing, and thermal checks. This helps us assess real operating behaviour, output stability, communication, and fault response.

If deeper internal diagnostics are needed, we will always discuss this with you first before carrying out additional chargeable work.

6. If approved, the unit is repaired, re-tested, and returned

• Please send your DC/DC converter securely packaged to prevent damage in transit
• We recommend using a tracked service when sending your unit to us
• Return shipping is included in the £80 basic diagnostics listing price
• Return service: Royal Mail Special Delivery by 1pm
• Typical repair time is 1–3 working days after arrival
• If parts need ordering, turnaround time may be longer

• In most cases, no additional coding is required after repair
• Units with previous repair attempts, tampering, severe internal damage, or water contamination may be beyond repair
• If this is the case, we will contact you and update you before any further work is discussed
• Main dealer solution is often replacement of the complete unit, which can be significantly more expensive than repairing the original
• We recommend ensuring the vehicle’s 12V battery is fully charged before refitting the repaired converter
